Guests Dakotah Massie, General Manager of McWilliams & Walden Inc., and Jamie Atkinson, Community Relations Coordinator at The Mission at Kern County, joined Studio 17 to highlight the Hope & Help Resource Fair, an important event offering vital services to individuals in need. The fair will be held on April 5th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Mission at Kern County, and it aims to support those experiencing homelessness and others who require assistance in improving their well-being.
Open to the public, the Hope & Help Resource Fair invites everyone to attend, with no prior registration required. The event will feature 20 to 30 vendors offering a wide range of services, including hygiene kits, Narcan distribution, resources for human trafficking victims, animal services, and mobile clinics. Additional amenities include psychiatric services, mobile showers, and a free lunch for attendees. Music will be provided by 88.3 LIFE FM, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.
Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to get involved by sponsoring or attending the event. A key initiative for the fair is the collection of 750 hygiene kits, which can be donated easily through the Hope & Help Resource Fair page on KGET’s website. The hygiene kits, available for purchase on Amazon, will be shipped directly to The Mission at Kern County, ensuring a smooth donation process.
For those unable to attend, donations of hygiene kits or spreading the word about the event can still make a significant impact on the lives of people in need. The Hope & Help Resource Fair offers an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and support essential services that benefit everyone.
