The Studio 17 team recently visited McWilliams & Walden Inc. to engage with students from Taft College’s TIL program. Students shared their aspirations and the life skills they’re gaining through the program, which focuses on independence and career readiness.
One student expressed a dream of working as a security guard for Disneyland, while another hopes to become a nanny. A few students also mentioned wanting to work in fields such as graphic design, restaurant management, and even mechanics. Many shared a passion for animals, and some are focused on becoming more independent and self-sufficient.
The experience at Taft College is helping them develop crucial skills for being independent, from crossing streets safely to working in various industries. With goals ranging from living on their own to excelling in jobs like grocery store work, or even supporting a baseball team at Angels Stadium, these students are excited about the future.
Through hands-on learning and guidance, the TIL program continues to empower students to explore their potential and build a foundation for their careers.
